Starting in 2013, “Ocean Legacy works with scientists, government, non-profits, artists, industries and concerned citizens to catalyze innovative solutions to combat plastic pollution.”
Ocean Legacy has cleaned up nearly 1.5 millions pounds of plastic and have diverted over 1 million pounds from landfills.
We have worked with Ocean Legacy to provide us with the waste stream plastics they collect. Their collected plastics have been used in various plastic products, most notably LUSH’s iconic black pots. Giving used and ocean plastics value in the manufacturing sector is the first step in combating the plastic pollution problem that haunts our oceans.
We hope that our work with Ocean Legacy prompts other injection molders to use PCR plastics as well.
